Iron Man Is One Cool A$$ Mutha...SHUT CHO MOUTH!

If Batman is baddest than there's no doubt Iron Man is the coolest sup to thrill fans. Marvel has certainly struck gold with the metal wonder. The first two movies have proved this fact, but judging by this official trailer Iron Man 3 may cement our wise-talking playboy Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man as the smoothest hero to date. With Morton Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel Jackson, a computer with a British accent, cool villains, and jaw-dropping effects how can you go wrong affraid?!!

Marvel is pulling out all the stops on this one from destroying the flyest CG cliffside pad this side of the Palisades, to bringing our hero to his knees, only to have him come back from the brink i'm sure in true Stark style. This movie will be an adrenaline-rush bounce for the toughest of fanboys! *Warning fanboys: bring your respirators, a cute wet-nurse, and a fresh pair of Depends, because I don't know if you'll survive this one. "IRON MAN 3" NEW SURPRISE: *WARNING! SPOILER ALERT*

The thrills keep coming with the anticipated "Iron Man 3" film! Like her character Pepper Potts, Gwyneth Paltrow is no stranger to fashion. In fact, she's making a bold new statement in Iron Man 3. affraid Pepper Pots will suit-up in an Iron Man suit! However there seems to be some question if she will become the heroine "Rescue" from the comics or if she's suiting up only to rescue Tony Stark. Either way it will be kick-a$$ to see! cheers

Here's a preview of the Iron Woman in action...

IRON MAN 3 COOL, BUT NOT GREAT:( ***WARNING! LIGHT SPOILERS***

IRON MAN 3 COOL, BUT NOT GREAT:(

While I remain somewhat bias I still must give an honest review of the latest edition into the Iron Man franchise. I saw the film on opening night and got there early to get a "good seat." Needless to say I wasn't the only one. In fact many of us were so early we caught the end credits rolling on Tyler Perry's latest film––don't even get me started on Mr. Perry's "contribution" to cinema. Rolling Eyes

AnyWHO, Iron Man 3 hit some high notes, yet fell flat on many verses. Let's start with the good points––Tony Stark A.K.A Robert Downey Jr. still knows how to deliver a quip with laser-beam precision. His fellow cast members Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle even managed to get in a few good one-liners. The onscreen chemistry between Paltrow and Downey never seemed better. I guess 3rd time's a charm– well make that 4th if you're counting the Avengers. The chemistry between Downey and his younger co-star Ty Simpkins (Harley) was also a good mix. Simpkins held his own very well while sharing the screen with Downey. Another high-note for the film was the special effects and action sequences––one in particular was a scene involving Air Force One. cheers Gwyneth Paltrow's debut as "Rescue" (the heroine from the comic books) in one of the promos was an effective ploy to hype the fans. Pepper Potts donning the Iron Man suit did make for an exciting scene––as did her final action scene in the film. Sorry, I can't say more on that without spoiling it.

Now for the bad news Crying or Very sad ...

My biggest disappointment with IM3 was the take on the villain "Mandarine." Though, Ben Kingsley did a stellar job (has he ever delivered a bad performance? NO) portraying the character the writers really F'd up on this one. I won't give away the details, but suffice-it-to-say they (the writers) missed a HUGE opportunity with making "Madarine" EPIC. Iron Man 3 felt more like a comedy than an action film. There were way too many needless jokes and light moments during the film, particularly with Robert Downey's character. I know Tony Stark is suppose to be smug and egotistical, however less can be more. Instead this time around the film relied too heavily on his banter and sarcasm. The second villain, Guy Pierce and his posse of super thugs was not fleshed-out well at all. The origin of their powers and their "beef" against the world was not explained well at all. Instead, it seemed very obvious that the writers focused too much on sensationalizing modern day terrorism as a thematic plot. This mis-step along with the high-octain action rendered the "bad guys" motivation moot. In other words, it left me scratching my head and asking myself "what the hell were they mad about again?" scratch

To sum up...

Iron man 3 is a great addition to the franchise. While it ranks high on the cool factor, it falls short on substance. It's better than Iron Man 2, but no-way is it better than the first Iron Man film or The Avengers. It's well worth the cost of admission and will deliver a few laughs, however if your looking for that quintessential action-film meets Shakespeare in the park I'm afraid you're going to be disapointed. king

Ironically, Iron Man 3's pitch-perfect ascent to the greatest action film ever can be summed up in a quote from the film––

"You start with something pure, something exciting. Then come the mistakes, the compromises.”

Enough said. Neutral
