BEING HUMAN US vs BEING HUMAN UK

Having only seen the US version my choice is obvious. Ironically, on my tube The SyFy Channel may have saved themselves from utter damnation with Being Human. This show literally keeps this network alive at least once a week for me. After they cancelled BSG, Stargate Universe, Caprica, and Stargate Atlantis, not to mention their insisting on airing the paranormal freak show (which shall remain nameless) ; the equally abysmal Face Off, and WWE I swore never to watch them again.
However, they seem to have struck gold with a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost turned zombie! The show's plot-lines never get boring and they manage to keep it totally SEXY! Being Human competes well with "True Blood" (especially since Blood's on hiatus) and the other racy cable shows; not an easy feat considering they have to adhere to some FCC rules (although, they do dance on the line ). I may have to take a look at the UK version to see how it measures up. What do you think?

BEING HUMAN IS OUT FOR (TRUE) BLOOD THIS SEASON

BEING HUMAN IS OUT FOR (TRUE) BLOOD THIS SEASON
Tonight's episode really gives a lesson on "screen-writing to keep an audience" and "how to steal a few viewers from the competition" (Continuum take notes). While "True Blood" is on hiatus "Being Human" is busy killing off new characters, resurrecting dead ones (Sally the ghost is now a 'true' zombie "like, oh my gawd...is my hair falling out!"), all while keeping the show fresh. Keep in mind, this is a network show--not cable.
Somehow, I don't think True Blood's creators are all that worried, but neither was Dracula before he got staked! VLAH! VLAH! VLAH!

BEING HUMAN'S WINNING FORMULA: FRESH MEAT!

BEING HUMAN'S WINNING FORMULA: FRESH MEAT!
Last night's episode of Being Human not only delivered an hour full of entertainment; it explored several sides of the human experience. Ironically, each of the character's desire to regain their humanity is mirrored by their savage behavior and natural urges to be what they are. I applaud the show's writers ability to keep the show edgy without loosing its fan-base. Even Josh's meeting his inner wolf was unexpected––nice touch . I'm sure the temptation to make it a man-eating savage was hard to resist, but in true 'Being Human' style they went in a different direction.
Sally's stint as a zombie gives the show new material at least for a season (and just when they made her all "PUR-TY"). Making her a zombie is certainly capitalizing on the "Walking Dead" craze (yeah, I see what y'all did there ). This is a smart move on the writers' behalf, because if things don't work out in the ratings they can always make her a ghost again without loosing face. The last scene with that zombie guy turning on his girlfriend was truly ghoulish ––didn't see that coming (well, at least not so soon)! I guess we can add her to the show's Casualty List! The turn-around here is starting to speed up. Too bad they didn't move as quickly last season. I was getting tired of that "Suren" character . Each week I was yelling, "Stake-her already!"
This season the writers are trimming the fat quick n' easy. No muss, no fuss! The writers introduce new characters faster than a cat can lick his a$$ and kills them off quicker than he can dry it! It's like being "that guy" wearing the ensign's suit on a Star Trek episode–––just don't get too comfy.
This show's winning formula: Good writing, interesting characters, and a high body-count.
Thank God my favorite show "True Blood" doesn't air opposite these guys!
